CLOSED – Reporting health and HIV/AIDS in Uganda

African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) in partnership with the United States Mission in Uganda invites applications for a course on reporting health and HIV/AIDS. This course – Entrenching Knowledge-Based Health Journalism in Uganda – seeks to improve the media’s capacity to offer quality coverage of the health sector that informs and empowers ordinary people to demand their rights and hold the powerful to account.

Participating journalists will receive a scholarship to attend an intensive 5-day workshop led by ACME’s training team and experts in the fields of healthcare and HIV/AIDS. By the end of the workshop they will leave with a greater understanding of current debates and issues in Uganda’s healthcare sector, a deeper knowledge of the players and their progress in achieving the country’s health development goals, and tools to produce content that informs and engages audiences.

  1. I am interested in the trailer since I have been reporting without enough basic knowledge on health and HIV Aids. I think this training can not only help me alone but it can help our community since we are voice of the voiceless.
