- Creativity and innovation
We think about and are open to new ways of doing business. We are receptive and responsive to change. We value, respect, and promote the creation and application of knowledge, responsible risk-taking and a spirit of entrepreneurialism. We keep an open mind to new ideas, and we recognise and celebrate innovative initiatives of all staff, board members and subscribers with a view to continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.
- Independence
We uphold principles of integrity, independence and freedom from bias. We manage our conflicts of interest and seek to remain free of influences that might interfere with the fair, transparent and professional delivery of our programmes.
While ACME relies on a range of organisations to fund and sustain its work, we do not enter into relationships that compromise the work of the organisation. We retain independent control over the delivery of our programmes, while at the same time embracing collaboration and interactivity with our funding partners. We recognise that funding sources may appear to affect our independence and we, therefore, pledge transparency to declare sponsorship of our programmes and promotional materials from funding partners.
- Integrity
For ACME and its staff, there is no compromise on being upright in all organisational activities. ACME does not tolerate corrupt practices and behaviour.
We adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and truth in advancing the interests of those we represent and in communicating with the public. All staff, board members and subscribers of ACME act with honesty, integrity and openness in all their dealings as representatives of the organisation.
All information about ACME fully and honestly reflects the policies and practices of the organization. All solicitation materials accurately represent our policies and practices and will reflect the dignity of programme beneficiaries. All financial, organisational, and program reports will be complete and accurate in all material respects.
- Persistence and determination
We recognise opportunities and take action to contribute outstanding results even in the face of cultural inertia to maintain the status quo. Our purpose in this is to provide consistent, reliable and sustainable efforts in all our programming. We respond positively to difficult situations and find innovative solutions to challenges.
- Quality
We go above and beyond required efforts to produce products and services of the highest quality for our partners and beneficiaries. This is the foundation of our credibility and reliability with our partners and clients. Our commitment to quality means that we shun complacency and continually strive to be among the best in all we do and to be the best in key areas. We believe exceptional quality and accessibility reinforce one another—that one need not be sacrificed to meet the other.
- Timeliness
Time is a valuable resource and meeting service delivery timelines is one of ACME’s standards. We deliver our work on time, with excellence. ACME provides comprehensive and timely information to journalists, the media, civil society, and all stakeholders and is responsive promptly to reasonable requests for information.
