Happy World Radio Day 2015!
The theme of this year’s celebration is Youth and Radio. The African Centre for Media Excellence held a desktop discussion with four leading radio journalists to debate how stations across Uganda are involving youth in everything from programming and content development to outreach and audience participation. Why isn’t enough being done to address the broadcast needs of the youngest population in Africa? What must change?
We discuss these issues with Thembo Kahungu Misairi – South Rwenzori Messiah Radio/Uganda Radio Network Kasese, Gloria Kanyonyozi – Radio West Mbarara, Mary Kigo – Step FM Mbale, and Terah Kaaya – Bukedde Radio. Moderating the discussion is ACME’s Rachel Mugarura-Mutana.
