What happened

Mbale city-based freelance journalist Benson Mukisa is in custody at Mbale Central Police Station for reportedly flying a drone over worshippers attending a sermon by renowned preacher Pr Aloysius Bugingo.  Mukisa who is now under investigation on suspicion of plotting a terror attack on Bugingo and the worshippers was picked from Mbale Senior Secondary School’s grounds where House of Prayer Ministries International senior pastor Bugingo was presiding over his prayer night event. Mukisa who was accused by Bugingo’s security team of flying his drone at the religious prayer event without ‘obtaining authorization’ had his drone, house keys and cell phones allegedly confiscated by the Pastor’s security team and asked for his gadgets’ passwords to erase whichever content he had already filmed from the prayer event. His family cannot access their home since his house keys were confiscated. Mukisa’s wife, Esther Pascal claims that her husband sought clearance to film the prayer event from the security manning the entry. They permitted him only to be inhumanely marshalled to Mbale CPS moments later.
