What happened
Simon Peter Oceng Amwolo, a journalist attached to Shine FM, a local Radio station in Oyam Town Council, Oyam was allegedly attacked by campaign team members of Junior Engola Okello, the NRM flag bearer for the Oyam North by-election. Oceng was reportedly attacked in front of Shine Fm around 9:30 pm on the day of the incident after Okello had finished his talk show. Okello’s campaign team members reportedly accused Oceng of playing a campaign song for Dr. Eunice Apio Otuku, a UPC candidate during their talk show. Otuku had reportedly paid airtime for her song to be played on the radio at 7:00 pm every day.
