What happened
Makerere University guild presidential candidate Margaret Nattabi has been arrested while holding a media briefing at the institution’s guild canteen regarding her disqualification from the race. According to a statement by the office of the 89th Guild electoral commission, Nattabi was disqualified on the grounds that she participated in a ‘Kimeza’ on the night of April 5, 2023. Other arrested students include Brian Murungi, Hillary Atwongire, Timothy Muhairwe, Isaac Otule, Agapito Akampurira, Desire Akuragye, Joseph Kayanja and Muzafaru Kabuulwa.
