The reported torture of Kamwenge Town Mayor Geoffrey Byamukama, sent chills down the spine of many in Uganda when gory images of his wounds featured in the media. The assertion that he was tortured at Nalufenya Police Station where he had been incarcerated on allegations of masterminding the killing of police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi, led to widespread denouncement of the facility.
