Participants from more than 10 countries gathered at ACME on 22 May 2017 to review the curriculum for training working journalists in effective coverage of extractives (oil, gas and mining).
ACME, with support from the Natural Resource Governance Institute, has since 2011 worked with more than 100 Ugandan journalists to help improve their knowledge and skills in covering oil, gas and mining.
In Africa, the NRGI media programme operates in Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria, Guinea and Tunisia. The programme aims to ensure media contributes to better governance of the extractives sector in the various countries. The meeting ended on 25 May 2017.
