This August, the African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) will launch its data journalism training programme for 12 Ugandan journalists. The training is a three-day introduction to the science and art of using data to report in-depth stories with potential to generate national debate and a demand by the public for action from relevant authorities.

To apply, send us a short email telling us who you are (name, work place, position and reporting beat if any) and why you are interested in data journalism. Attach one sample of your work. Send the email to info [at] acme-ug [dot] org. The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. on 28 July 2014.
Selection for this training is competitive. The strength of an application will be determined based on the applicant’s statement of interest and the quality of the work sample. All Ugandan journalists are encouraged to apply.
The training will take place from 5th to 7th August 2014. Before applying, please confirm with your employers that they will allow you full time attendance for all three days.
