I agree with your submission however I would like to point out another tragedy that is in many Newsroomas. Most of the reporters are society reporters and by so doing they pick and paste ideas from the net and earn their money. And indeed Newsrooms are nolonger training grounds when I was begining Journalism we started in court before moving anywhere else.
I think we need to get back to the basics where Editors are no-longer operating on deadlines but have time for reporters to encourage them to stay. The world over Journalism is a job of the experienced and similarly the training should be done by people who have done it. So that besides the academics the old share experiences with the young. Otherwise we are yet to see more exiting. Ofcourse with my little time in Newsroom am already feeling I should hang up my pen. So I wonder how many people out there share my feelings.
