The African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) invites staff of community based organisations and civil society organisations working on oil and gas governance issues in the Albertine to apply for a training course on media relations.
This four-day course, organised with support from the Ford Foundation, covers the full spectrum of media relations skills. It will introduce you to today’s media landscape and show you how to navigate it. You will learn innovative media engagement tactics and develop strategic approaches and techniques for pro-active engagement with journalists.
Who can apply?
This course is designed for staff of non-profit organisations with some existing knowledge and experience in communications or public relations. It is tailored to meet the needs of organisations working on oil and gas governance and natural resource management advocacy in the Albertine region.
While applications from all organisations working in this area are welcome, preferential treatment will be given to applicants from non-profit organisations based in Kasese, Hoima, Buliisa, Bundibugyo, Arua, Nebbi, Amuru and Nwoya districts.
When and where will it take place?
The residential course to be held at ACME’s training centre in Kampala will take place on 7-10 August, 2017. Successful applicants will be required to attend all three training days in full.
Tuition fees, transport to and from your station, accommodation and meals will be catered for by ACME. ACME, however, does not pay a per diem to participants of its training courses. All extra costs will be catered for by participants.
